Contact & FAQ
If you'd like to get in touch with Nice Quest, feel free to send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are always looking for potential sponsors and creative partners. If you're interested in hosting us for a live show please include BOOKING in the subject line of you email. If you're interested in contacting any of our cast or crew individually, we encourage you to reach out via the email above, and we will put you in touch. And of course, we always love submissions of music and fan art!
What is Nice Quest?
We are a tabletop rpg podcast that brings together actors and other performative types to play games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Bubblegumshoe, and Fiasco. We have a focus on story-driven narratives, and a loose playstyle that gives equal priority to humour and serious play. That is, we hope to bring you epic and engaging stories, but also have a hilarious time as we do.
Do I have to know how to play the games to be able to listen?
No! Not at all! Our job is to know the games so you can just sit back and enjoy the story. We edit our podcasts with music and sounds for a more cinematic audio effect, but the true magic comes from the visuals that you create in your mind while you listen. WARNING: you may learn about the games while you listen. Proceed with caution.
Where can I listen?
If you're reading this, you've already found us on PodBean, our fantastic hosting service. You can also find us on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher, Acast, Blubrry, and most other locations where great podcasts are found! Many podcast directories will have automatically collected our content from PodBean, so our reach is wider than we even know. We are always working to expand onto as many new services and platforms as we can, so if you can't find Nice Quest on the service you use, don't hesitate to reach out to us at the contact address above.
I'm an actor or performative type! Where do I sign up?
Feel free to let us know at the contact info above. Our main season campaigns will have a fairly fixed cast, but our Side Quest episodes (often one-shots) will have rotating casts. Casting decisions remain the responsibility of our producers, but we'll put in a good word for you!
I love the show, is there any way I can support it?
Yes! Hit that subscribe button, like and share our episodes, leave a review, spread the good word with your friends and family! If you're interested in supporting us financially, we are always looking for sponsors. If that isn't within your wheelhouse of support, we are looking into launching our Patreon in 2019.
Wait a minute, don't I know this story?
The main campaign of season one is Hoard of the Dragon Queen, the first official adventure module for DND5e. With some relatively new players in the cast and other schedules in our lives to contend with, it felt like a good place to start. We are working on our own campaigns for the future, but we are confident our adventurers will be able to make this Tyranny of Dragons fresh and exciting for those who may have experienced this module before. We do have the Geoff the sheep, after all.
Those aren't the rules!
Not a question, but we’ll allow it. We don’t always follow the rules! We love the rules, we use most of the rules, but sometimes we tweak things to fit our story and characters. Yes, our Druid knows “Find Familiar.” No, Half-Orc/Half-Elf isn’t a standard race. We made it up. We also made up the Minor Magic Surge, and expanded the Wild Magic Surge. It’s our own homebrew of the game and we love it!
Who is Fred Skeleton?
Fred Skeleton Theatre Company produces shows that push boundaries, stretch limits and introduce audiences to the surprising, the strange and the wonderful. Our podcast is currently produced in partnership with Fred Skeleton, and we couldn't be prouder. If you are in the Okanagan area, be sure to check them out!
No, who is THE Fred Skeleton?
Well for that information you'll have to go to their website: www.fredskeleton.com
I've heard other podcasts with better audio quality than this.
We have too, and we love listening to them! One of the biggest challenges recording a role-playing podcast like Nice Quest is being able to record multiple players at once. While many other great podcasts record over apps like Skype and Discord, we really want to capture the sensation of playing around an actual table. While it may sounded a little rougher around the edges, our group loves getting together to play, and we want it to feel like you’ve been invited along as well, sitting at the table with us! Right now, our budget and techforce is quite small, so we're doing out best. We are committed to always improving our audio quality, and thank you for you patience while we continue to learn and grow.
I have a question that isn't listed here.
It probably wasn't frequent enough. Drop us a line at the email above!
When will these questions end?
Right about now.
